i rememberremember when we went stumbling through the grimier parts of town looking for nothing in particular and finding cluttered antique store clerks eyeing us thinking that with a slip of the hand they could lose something old and fragile not-our-neighbourhood-but-somebodys’-neighbourhood parks and corner stores with old tinkling bells on the doorsi remember
remember those couple of blocks with the lofts and three-storey buildings with rusted spiraling staircases leading to each floor that made me long to move to new york
remember stopping interesting-looking peo
midnight momentthe silence is actually whole [the kind that pushes in on your eardrums] through my thoughts i hadnt noticed but when i did i lay in themidnight moment
striped darkness [noticing]
now i burrow in my blankets flashlight beside me, [i didnt want to
ruin the darkness completely its a blanket too, you see] self-pity above me, trying to be poetic.
i like this warm moment stitched together with
shades of shadows on
old dollhouse walls and a lot of missing things.

endless field dreamsthe sky was so big yesterday the kind of big that makes you wish for the buildings and sidewalks to go away and leave you to dream in the middle of a neverending field so that you could look up at the whole sky [the whole sky] and then some and keep one eye open for those fishermen trains magical kingdom soccer ball lightbulb chocolate chip cookie clouds to scuttle their way over from childhoodendless field dreams
